Interview: LottoLaffs
by diamondpalace
Studying numbers and its behaviors is fun, what’s also fun is getting to know other lottery players. I will be doing this once a month. Finding a serious lottery player and sit them down with some questions, so that we can get some new inspiration. In this first interview we have talked to lottolaffs. If you don’t know who she is, this interview may help you.
Let’s start the interview:
DiamondPalace: What inspired you to obtain the nickname “Lottolaffs”?
LottoLaughs: I just love to laugh and make jokes. My sister thinks I’m hilarious but I think she’s the only one, haha.
DP: Please tell us something about yourself to get an idea of your life.
LL: Wow, where do I begin? My life is pretty dull now compared to what it used to be,LOL. Working with numbers all day probably doesn’t sound exciting to most people but to me, it’s a real blast and challenge trying to beat the lottery!
DP: What state do you live in? And what do you do for a living?
LL: Good old California! Been here all my life. Currently self employed trying to start my own LottoLaffs Lottery Systems enterprise.
DP: How long have you been playing the lottery? At what age did you start?
LL: 20 years ago when I was 23 I went to work in a liquor store and sat in a booth all day selling lottery tickets. That’s when I got the fever!
DP: What was your first lottery games, and how much you bet?
LL: Back in 1989 the only 2 games available in CA was the regular lottery and Decco, I believe. They didn’t even have a Pick 5 game or Daily 3 yet. Since there wasn’t much choice I probably spent about $20 a week between the two. But I sure did love Decco, it was a game where you picked 4 cards and they had to be in the right order. I miss it!
DP: Did you win anything from that?
LL: My coworker and I used to wait every night for those Decco numbers to roll in. One night I had played some sort of a system with it so I had several tickets with the same “cards”. Wouldn’t you know, 3 out of 4 of my “cards” came in and I’m sure everyone down the street could hear me from how loud I yelled. It was over $80 but that was my first big win ever!
DP: What was the highest prize you’ve won so far?
LL: Let’s see…wow, must have been $457 on a 4 Spot Fantasy 5 ticket. I was one number away from the 5th, but isn’t that how the story always goes?
DP: Throughout all the games offered, from pick 3 to scratch offs, what’s your favorite?
LL: It used to be Pick 5 but now I’m a big Pick 3 fan. That could change tomorrow though,LOL. I fluctuate between the two.
DP: Since when do you start looking at the lottery differently, discovering different ways to play to your advantage?
LL: Probably ever since I worked at that liquor store. I used to keep track of the numbers in a big binder. Everyone knew where to find me when I went missing–on the front porch hunched over my binder fiddling around with those past results!
DP: You’re known for coming up with fun workouts to play lottery. How many workouts have you came up with till this day?
LL: Literally hundreds but a ton of them have landed in the garbage. Sometimes I wish I’d kept them all but I do need some room to move around,LOL. I’ve got enough paper in my house as it is and since I do everything by hand, it sure adds up. I’d say I probably have around 20 systems that I’m most proud of.
DP: Where do you get inspiration to create new fun ways to play the lottery?
LL: This is a great question. My inspiration comes from working at the liquor store and watching the same people come in every week with the same playslips playing the same numbers and not winning anything. I thought to myself, “There has to be a better way.” This has become more of a passion. I just have to do it for some reason. Maybe it stems from when I was young and planning on being a teacher. If there was a “lottery school” I’d be first in line to teach!
DP: Can you give some advice to new player who want to learn more?
LL: Read,Read,Read all you can about the lottery and systems! Print out all your past game’s history results and just start studying! That’s what I did.
DP: What’s the number one mistake you see others make in playing the lottery?
LL: Buying Quick Picks!
DP: Let’s talk about your dreams. What would you do if you won the Mega Millions or the Powerball?
LL: If I was 23 again I’d probably rattle off a thousand material things. Nowadays I think of the state of the world and how I could help out in my own little way. Anything to do with Hunger, Homelessness and Animals would definitely get support from me.
DP: Have you released any of your workouts in booklets/software/ebook forms that others can obtain? If so, where can people find them?
LL: Yes, I sure have! My “Pick 3 Lottery Systems for the Serious Player” booklet is available now on Ebay. Coming very soon are a series of Pick 5/6 Lottery Systems–I’m writing one for each state!
DP: What do you do for fun beside coming up with interesting ways to play the games?
LL: Writing screenplays, photography, reading. Cooking, traveling, crocheting, listening to music, going for long walks. I’m a TV addict! I love everything from “Gilligan’s Island” to “The Hills”,LOL. Oh and I can’t forget Video Keno!
DP: Do you play other state’s games? How would you compare it with your state?
LL: No, I never have. When I go visit my sister in Texas maybe I will buy a few tickets!
DP: If should you have the power to chance rules of the lottery games, what would you change, if any?
LL: To never, ever, EVER have any pre draws! These screw up the games!
DP: In your adventure in the lottery world, do you collaborate with other lottery enthusiasts? Can you drop some names?
LL: I have taken someone else’s idea and elaborated on it and/or combined it with one of my systems. Name dropping? LOL. I can’t remember who they were but it was on the Lottery Post. 99% of the time I work solo.
DP: Where do you see yourself in 5 years, how about 10 years?
LL: I’m the kind of person who just takes it one day at a time. 5 or 10 years? Holy Smoke! Hope I’m still alive and buying lottery tickets!
DP: That’s sums up the interview. Thank you for spending time with me, wish you best of luck on getting your jackpots.
Mmmmm….sounds familar???
